Remembering Army Delta Force Master Sergeant Joshua Wheeler

On October 22, 2015 Army Delta Force Master Sergeant Joshua Wheeler sacrificed his life to save others. Delta Force carried out a raid on a militant run prison in Iraq which freed 70 prisoners who would have been executed the next day. During his 20 year career Wheeler was Deployed 17 times and earned 11 Bronze Stars, 4 for Valor. Wheeler was posthumously awarded the Silver Star and Purple Heart. This Cherokee Nation Citizen from Rowland, Oklahoma was always known for being especially giving and putting others needs before his own. MSGT Wheeler left behind his wife Ashley and four sons, Matthew, Zachariah, David, and Joshua Jr.
