Remembering Army Special Forces Staff Sergeant Ronald J. Shurer II

Today U.S. Army Special Forces Staff Sergeant Ronald J. Shurer II was laid to rest in Section 60 of Arlington National Cemetery. Shurer passed away on May 14, 2020, at the age of 41 from cancer. He is survived by his wife and two sons.
Shurer was awarded the Medal of Honor on October 1, 2018, for his actions as a Green Beret medic with 3rd Special Forces Group during the Battle of Shok Valley in northeastern Afghanistan on April 6, 2008.
Rest in Peace Staff Sergeant Shurer, we will continue to perpetuate your service and sacrifice to our great nation here at Because of the Brave.
